AMAZING ARTS OF BALI SCULPTURE

Bali is one of tourist destination in Indonesia, with art Bali can invite tourists to visit and vacation in Bali island. One of high value of art in Bali is art of sculpture, a lot of sculptors in Bali such Ida Bagus Tilem, I Ketut Tulak, Ida Bagus Nyana etc. At first arts of Bali sculpture serves as a means of ritual worship in the form of symbolic embodiment of ancestral spirits, God, with all its manifestation that are scared.

The  types of sculpture embodiment in Bali is often call Pratima, statues, and pralingga petapakan. Renewal of a very brilliant in the art of Balinese statues occur after direct contact with foreign artist/sculptors and local sculptors. Thus giving birth to new forms that tends realist, naturalist and surrealist who uses wood material then thrived in the village of Mas, Kemunuh and village Peliatan. The figures such as Ida Bagus Nyana, Ida Bagus Tilem, I Ketut Tulak, I Wayan Ayun, Pande Wayan Neka, I Nyoman Togog and I Wayan Winten, with their hand concrete sculpture created.

Concrete sculpture creation process in in Peliatan village through the following stages :- make drawing, - the manufacture of mockups (miniature), - forming statues, -frame construction, -sculpture foundry frame, -phase formation, - the completion of forms and ornate designs. The development of the existing concrete sculpture in Peliatan not be separated from the influence of the figure I Wayan Winten had his art sculpture with concrete materials was started in 1992 which makes sculptures of dancers, who graced junction Br. Teges Peliatan village. In 1994 made Gatot Kaca sculpture in Kuta Bali.

If we see from function concrete arts of Bali sculpture, the presence of a concrete sculpture in the village Peliatan not only for the sake of ritual worship embodied in the form of religious symbols, but also evolved  into decorative aesthetic function as elements that decorate the city park,  recreation park, government office, hotel, museum, residential homes and so on.

Bali now has big project to build arts of Bali Sculpture in Jimbaran, The tourist park in Unggasan Jimbaran Bali, attraction statue Garuda Wisnu Kencana ( GWK ), GWK statue is a replica of the statue of Lord Wisnu riding Garuda named as high as 12m, the work of yhe famous sculptor Bali. I NYOMAN Nuarta, Area Garuda Wisnu Kencana cultural park is located at an altitude of 146 meters above the ground or 263 feet above sea level. This statue is project to tie lay out with visibility up to 20 km, so that can be seen from Kuta, Sanur, Nusa Dua, until Tanah Lot. 

Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue is symbols of the mission of saving the environment and the earth. The bif project arts of Bali sculpture was made from a mixture of copper and steel weighing 4000 tons , with a height of 75 meters and width of 60 meters. When contruction is completed, the sculpture will be the largest statue in the world and beat the statue of Liberty in USA,,,it so Amazing arts of Bali sculpture, the results of the nations children.
